The Oregon Public House is now open; choose your favorite food, drink and charity.
The grand opening was last Friday and, after almost three years of planning and imagining how it would all work, it was an incredible experience to see the reality of people coming in as customers to order food, order drinks and to choose a charity to support. It is also a great feeling to see money finally being raised for some fantastic nonprofit organizations.
The grand opening, in fact the whole weekend, was kind of crazy. Really. Thanks to everyone who waited in a long line (lines that stretched out of the front door and onto the sidewalk) just to order a beer or something. Thank you. I hope your beer was the best ever.
Thanks also to the volunteers who came in to help bus tables and seat people and clean and a ton of other things. Your help is appreciated.
And we still need volunteers (hint, hint). Volunteer hours keep the operating budget low so that a greater percentage of revenue can go to the organizations that need it. Contact the pub at: firstname.lastname@example.org or come by the pub for more details about volunteering opportunities.
Finally, kudos to everyone who helped to make the grand opening happen: staff, volunteers, the bands that performed, anyone who told a friend, spread the word, sent an email, ect. Thanks.
